Re-Heating Instructions
There are many ways to re-heat your meals. I prefer NOT to use a microwave as the research is so questionable so I choose to use other methods. The first two are my preferred methods:
Stovetop:
- Fill a medium non-stick pan with 1-2 T of water
- Pour the contents of the meal container into the pan
- Stir, turn, flip contents of meal as needed throughout cooking using a wooden spoon or silicon spatula until heated through or at desired temperature/texture
- Pour onto a plate and enjoy!
Oven/Toaster Oven Baked
- Place contents of the meal container into and oven safe dish or on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (You may use a cooking spray prior to this step if you prefer)
- Add 1-2T water to prevent food from drying out, stir
- Bake food at 350 degrees for 10-20 minutes checking food, stirring in 5 min. increments or until food is heated through (Convection ovens/toaster ovens cook quicker than regular ovens so be sure and check the temperature of food sooner)
Microwave
1. Place contents of meal into a micowave safe container (I prefer pyrex when I occasionally use the microwave)
2. Cover meal with a microwave safe lid or damp paper towel and re-heat 1-3 minutes depending on the strength of your microwave (always check temperature between cooking times to ensure you do not over heat meals)
Please Note
- Our meal containers are BPA free, freezer and microwave safe
- Tortillas, bread and buns are often wrapped separately in BPA free plastic wrap
- The best way to bring back texture for corn tortillas is to leave them in the plastic wrap and microwave them 15-20 seconds
- Tostada shells do not need to be reheated
- Bread can be placed in the toaster oven at 350 degrees for about 2 min., or regular toaster to re-crisp as well
- Taquitos-follow oven instrucitons above, or wrap up in a dry paper towel and microwave 20 sec.-1 min.
